Collector Care
We offer domestic delivery and international shipping though our trusted courier partners, ensuring secure and reliable transportation of your artwork worldwide.
Shipping Quotes & Delivery
Chané Bolton Contemporary Art offers both local (within South Africa) and international delivery services.
- Local Deliveries: Orders are typically fulfilled within ten (10) business days from receipt of payment. This timeframe allows for bespoke packaging and accommodates potential delays to outlying regions.
- International Deliveries: Shipments of up to three artworks are generally delivered within two to three (2–3) weeks, factoring in custom packaging and possible customs clearance delays.
- Bulk or Consolidated Orders: For orders consisting of four (4) or more artworks, delivery times may be extended due to the individual logistics and locations of each piece. Chané Bolton Contemporary Art will keep you informed throughout the acquisition and delivery process, communicating any factors that may influence estimated timelines.
Packaging
We partner with experienced fine art logistics providers to ensure each artwork is professionally packaged to the highest standards. Packaging solutions are customized to suit the specific dimensions, medium, and fragility of each piece, ensuring optimal protection during transit.
Transit Insurance
Unless expressly confirmed otherwise, shipments are not automatically insured.
- When providing a shipping quotation, we will also include an optional transit insurance quote, which we strongly encourage you to accept.
- Uninsured Shipments: Should loss or damage occur during transit, Chané Bolton Contemporary Art bears no liability for the replacement or refund of the artwork.
- Insured Shipments: In the event of loss or damage, we will liaise directly with the relevant insurer to either replace the artwork or ensure a full refund is issued to you—at no additional cost. Please ensure that your decision regarding insurance is confirmed in writing prior to dispatch.
Returns & Refunds Policy
Overview
Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of contemporary artworks, returns are not guaranteed and are considered on a case-by-case basis. Requests for returns or refunds must be submitted to Contemporary Art within three (3) days of receiving your order.
If your artwork arrives damaged, fails to arrive, or is materially different from its description, we will work with you to find a resolution at no additional cost. In such cases, we may request clear photographic evidence of the issue, including images of the artwork as well as its internal and external packaging.
To support any potential insurance claims, please retain all original packaging materials in the event inspection is required.
Return Eligibility & Conditions
Returns may be accepted under the following conditions:
- The return request is submitted within three (3) days of delivery.
- The artwork is deemed to be materially not as described or has arrived damaged.
- For artworks eligible for return due to damage or error, return shipping must be pre-paid and the work fully insured by the collector, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Contemporary Art reserves the right to determine whether a discrepancy is material. Minor differences that do not impact the value or character of the work do not qualify.
Covered Situations
Returns and refunds will be considered when:
- A work is delivered with undisclosed damage, or damage incurred during shipping (where insurance was in place).
- Artwork details are materially incorrect (e.g., incorrect edition size).
- The work is declared lost or irreparably damaged by the shipping provider.

- Natural characteristics or marks intrinsic to the creative process (e.g., incidental brushstrokes).
- Minor or negligible differences in dimensions (all listed measurements are approximate).
- Delays due to customs processing or shipping provider issues.
- Unpaid customs duties or taxes – these remain the collector’s responsibility.
